What to ask any breeder
Most people feel awkward asking a breeder hard questions. Ask anyway. If a breeder gets defensive, that tells you something.
Ask these, and listen to how they answer
- Can I see the parents? Not a photo of the parents. The parents.
- What did this line throw last time? A real program knows. Somebody buying their breeding stock in doesn't.
- What health testing does this dog have? Ask about the individual dog, not the program.
- What happens if something goes wrong at two years old? Ask whether you'll still have their number.
- How tall will he be? Height, not weight. Anyone dodging it is selling you a guess.
- Can I visit, or see the dogs live on video? A real ranch has nothing to hide.
