Most puppies come with a story about their parents. Mine come with the parents, the grandparents, and years of records. These are my own DaBestBulls lines, bred right here, so I have watched every bloodline breathe, move, grow up and have puppies of its own.
That is not luck. It is common sense, applied for years. The program also uses full DNA panels and OFA certifications.

What that mission actually costs
“Regardless of expense” is easy to put on a website. Here is what it has meant in practice.
Keeping dogs I could have sold
The dogs that prove out a line are the ones worth the most money. Holding them back instead of selling them is how you end up with generations you actually know, and it is the most expensive decision I make every year.
Breeding for four things at once
Health, temperament, structure and function. Chase one and you lose the others — breed only for size and you get a dog that cannot breathe. Getting all four moving in the same direction takes generations, not one lucky pairing.
Filming the parts most people hide
Nearly 1,500 videos, including the sick days, the complications and the dogs that did not turn out how I hoped. A camera on the whole program is the only proof that means anything.
Saying no
Turning down a breeding, or telling somebody my dogs are not the right fit for their female, costs money on the day. It is the reason the lines stay consistent years later.
None of that shows up in a puppy photo. It shows up eight years later, in a dog that still moves well and still breathes easy.

Mini or micro? Here is the actual difference
This is the question I get more than any other, and the answer is height, not weight. Weight moves around with muscle and age. Height does not.

That is my grading, and I say it out loud on camera so you can hold me to it. Weight runs roughly 20 to 45 lbs depending on mini or micro, male or female — but if a breeder is selling you on weight alone, ask for the height.
Small does not mean fragile. A dog is healthy because its parents and grandparents were healthy, not because of its size. That is the whole argument for knowing the line behind your puppy, and it is why I breed nearly everything here in house.
What I tell every owner before they take a puppy home
I would rather you know this and never need it. Two of these can kill a dog in a day, and most new owners have never heard of them.
Bloat
It kills fast. Throwing up with nothing coming out, a hard swollen belly, pacing and unable to settle — that is an emergency, not a wait-and-see. A lot of it comes down to how and when you feed.
Catching sickness early
Four things that buy you time and give your vet something to work with. Knowing what to say on the phone changes the diagnosis you get.

Feeding, cleaning, the wrinkles, the ears, and what is normal versus what is not for a bulldog puppy settling into a new house.

A cheap bulldog costs you twice: once at the vet, and again in the years you should have had with a healthy dog. A bulldog bred for health, temperament and structure, from a line with years of history behind it, is never going to be cheap, and it shouldn't be. How much does a mini or micro English bulldog puppy cost?
Prices start at $4,000. That's my base price, and it's the floor for a bulldog raised the right way: bred for health, structure, function and temperament, with the vet visits, the health testing in the program and proper care from the first day. In my experience, you can't produce a puppy like that properly for less. From there it depends on the puppy: size, the pairing, and pet or breeding quality. What's the difference between a mini and a micro English bulldog?

How long do English bulldogs live?
