Ear Cleaning on your Dog / ear rinse, how to, deal with puppies ear infection

Welcome to the best bully ranch, and right now we're going to go over ear cleaning and how to clean a dog's ear, what we do to clean the dog's ear. There's a bunch of different ways, but I like this way the best. So, check it.

With the ears, um it's something that I would recommend doing like once a month, once every other month. And of course, if you ever saw your dog rubbing your ear or shaking shaking their head um abnormally a lot, then you need to get their ears cleaned and or take them to the vet because there's something wrong with their ears. Uh so, this is the ear ear rinse I use. You can get it on amazon. It's um ot rinse. It's an ear cleansing / drying solution. So, you squirt it in their ear, you rub, it breaks up and cleans the ear, and then it self dries, and they shake their ear out, too. Escobar, he he he he knows he's going to get his ears cleaned,.

But he doesn't really mind this. Now, with bulldogs, the the breed standard is they should have a pretty rosy ear. Now, if you look at Escobar, look at here, look at his ear. See how it comes back? That's that's a breed standard, and that's good because one, it's it's it's pulled back, um and it opens up their ear, so it doesn't have the like uh it it it allows air flow and doesn't build up the kind of humidity in there that is uh will will cause ear infections and problems. And with the droopy ear dogs, you actually see that a lot. Um like basset hounds and stuff, crazy about ear ear problems because there's no ear there's no air flow in there, and causes the.

Humidity a a big problem. And actually, uh fun fact is there's actually not a single wild animal that has their ears covered over like their ears down. There's not one. If you think of every about every wild animal, foxes, uh pigs, any any any wild animal. I'd like to you guys think if you if if you can think of one, let me know. The only animal that has a droopy ear, that that's wild, is a is an elephant, but it's not a droopy ear. It's it's down, but it's just like ours. Same kind of thing where it's open. But, there's no animal, wild animal, that has this ear over. And so, it's a it's a problem that we've we've developed through domesticating dogs.

And causing that droopy ear, and that causes ear infection. So, one, if you do have a bulldog that has the non-breed standard ears where it's basset houndish, you're going to have this problem, and I recommend doing this ear rinse once a month, if not every other month. But, if they have the droopy ears, once a month. Um two, I recommend if they have any problems Escobar um doesn't, but we still do it. So, what we're going to do is we're going to take this, open this up. Squirt okay. We're going to stick this in the ear not not super hard or far. And we're going to I'm going to stand over. I like to stand over him like this, so I pin him to my.

Legs. I'm going to squirt in there, okay? And then I fill up the ear, and then I'm going to grab right at the and then I'll rub it. You can you can hear it in there. And it actually feels really good for him. So, it's clean air. So, then I'm going to I don't want to shake. I'm going to hold him if I don't hold him, he'll shake. And then I'm going to pour in the other one.

And you got to and I'm going rub it. And it I can rub both, and he likes it. It feels really good. And I'm going to do it I usually do it two times, especially like if it's just upkeep. He has a stuffy ear. You take a cotton ball to clean out, but his ears are actually relatively clean. And then I'm going to rub again.

It's very important that you hold the head because if you're standing over him like this, and you don't hold the head, he'll shake his head, and you'll feel get ear juice all in your face. Um trust me, I know. So, then I'll just do the other one. One more time, stick it in there. Squirt. And I squirt in there pretty.

And I'll rub. And he likes it. So, now this is really good upkeep. And now I'm going to back away really I'm going to shake his head. And he'll shake his head a couple times. Now, I've done this how do this as upkeep just to make sure there's no ear infection and then they don't get any ear infections. And on top of that, um I've done it before when I see a dog starting to rub their ear or shake their head, I notice that those are common signs a dog has um something in their ear or slight ear infection or something and I'll do this. And this works and it it clears up. Now, if the dog continues to rub their head, shake their their.

Their head a lot, then you might need um a vet treatment go to the vet and they might give you some antibiotic cream and stuff to put in there. But this is a very very good um a maintenance and preventative kind of thing to stop that from happening because one if you get an ear infection, it can be very bad for a dog, deadly. And two, it's very costly going to the vet and stuff. So, I like to do this like I said, I do every every month, every other month, just depending on the dog. If you do have a dog that has the droopy ears, an English bulldog, that has the droopy ears, um the basset hound style ears, I really am not a.
