Episode 7 - Breeding: How to pick your Puppy and Parents - Feeding 8 week and up Puppies

Hi my name is Jason Soares welcome to the best bulls this is sushi and this episode we're going to be talking about breeding we're going be to talking about how to match up your male and your female properly how to pick a male how to pick a female being how to pick a puppy and also what we're going to talk about is lion breeding the do's the don'ts how to make it really good and how not to make it really bad on top of that we're going to be showing our build out our state of the art facility the new drainage system and how that's working and then a little added bonus we're going to talk about puppy mush and different recipes that are gonna.

Be for that eight week plus old puppy to make sure they stay nice and healthy so whether you're doing this because you're a breeder or you're watching this because you are a future pet owner or you want to want to get a get a pet or you have a pet whatever it is and you want a bulldog mini micro standard whatever or something like sushi the it's very important to understand how to match up male and female whether you're the one doing the match up or you're the one looking at the match up now when you're doing match-ups the goal is to improve the breathe in every in every in every sense in health and temperament and structure in functionality you're trying to improve the.

Breed if you're not looking at all those things then you're doing a disservice to the dog you want to match up a male and female that are going to complement each other meaning if your female has a small head you're looking for a male that has a big head and not only a big head you're looking for a male has a big head that has a good temperament that is healthy and that is structurally sound functional and everything so those are the things you're looking for whenever you match up attributes they're going to amplify each other statistically so if you match up two dogs that have this this ugly stance statistically speaking majority dogs are gonna have that ugly stance even worse because you're amplifying.

It and the same thing if you match up two dogs that have great heads nice you're gonna amplify that you match up two dogs that have great temperaments and good health and functionality and structure you're gonna amplify that and then the law the better the pedigrees go the more amplification you're gonna get meaning let's talk about escort that's where it has great structure good head dad has great structure good head grandpa's great stretch are good mom has great structure good head so statistically speaking him being able to pass that gene over is going to be extremely high and that's why you see his puppies looking so good so now Escobar.

Honestly he's he's amazing okay that's my stamp straight come on and uh so with him he's gonna correct pretty much everyone's flaws in the sense that he has a very nice straight back um very rear end crazy huge round head no big underbite so it's just a very flat face the big rolls I mean he's so rolly and you guys can see now this is not this is not um it's not editing or whatever that he has rolls on his legs he has a little cut right here yeah he has rolls on his legs he has rolls on his look at this he's he's as thick as me like sticking my wrist or thicker he has rolls on his back legs and this is his.

Natural stance you saw me just put him here he has a very nice stance now if I was being picky I would say I would always put him with a female where the feet are straight or turning a little bit because I don't like how his foot turns a little bit out see how it puts a little bit out I don't like that and that's just me that's just me being being extra picky.

Yeah these little things here as a whole this boy is as as I mean near perfect as possible but I can say his only flaw is is that his his instead of just popping his foot like straight which pretty much no one really has a little bit like this so I would like to fix that um let me stand in here so you see a good angle.

As far as size small compact um as far as uh as far as the um the temperament goes you can't find anything about an Escobar I mean he is has zero aggression if a dog if a dog gets mad at him and tries to fight him he will literally run away he's just and then he's the sweetest boy super friendly loyal and that's the stuff you want so these are things you want to add to to your programmer or these are things you want in a pet so he has he he has all those attributes um he's also health tested.

And fully cleared even though I'm not a big fan of the health testing and I'll explain that a little bit later why um he is you know and then but more importantly than health testing with health testing's bs more importantly he is he is just um healthy he's amazing he runs he jumps he plays he moves well um he's never been like he hasn't never had doesn't have any problems you can see him walk everything is very strong healthy dog all right boy hey boy I love you.

I love you getting into healthy health testing I am a big hater on the help testing I think it's in in a way stupid I think we should still do it because the health testing they're testing four different things and one of them actually carries weight it's a kidney thing so if they're double recessive not very bad if they carry one recessive trait they can pass it on still can be bad so it is responsible to do the health testing but it's so crazy they're like oh is your dog health tested like esmer's health tested but he could be he could be crazy unhealthy that those health tests don't do anything as a whole for the dog there's there's a hundred different other plus 100.

Plus other different problems that these bulldogs have they can't move right they can't breathe right they they all these all those DNA tests aren't going to test for that they're not going to test first your dog nice you know the most important thing is you seeing this dog move you seeing this dog breathe you see this dog run around you seeing the functionality uh behind it and that's why I'm huge on knowing the program like I know my program I'm not gonna promote dogs that are unhealthy and I'm not to breed dogs that are bad temperament so you know getting getting a dog from us that statistically speaking you're getting a really good dog now if the other if you're going to to another.

Person you're going to purchase from someone else that's fine just make sure that they're running their program properly Escobar is about as good as they come I know a lot of a lot of people are are um with their studs and their dogs they edit and stuff like that you can't edit this this is just this is real video can't edit video um and he's he's just amazing he can't you can't you can't fake how good he is another thing too that you that you want to watch out for when you're talking about studs and if you're in in the in the market of getting a stud or you're in the market of just getting a pet you want to make sure the dog.

That you're looking at the parents you're looking at you're seeing videos you're seeing multiple pictures lots of times on really good dogs you only see a couple pictures of the dog and they're usually edited or perfectly taken or whatever and it's not the real look you know escort I'll show you every angle that's right like look you want to see side you want to see front you want to see oh stand over him like come stand over him look at this come okay like he's just good everywhere come on stamp that's that's a skipper ah that's right come on yeah see it doesn't it doesn't matter what angle you take the boy is just good right esky he's just a man he's just the man.

And on top of that he's my buddy and uh I wouldn't trade for anything yeah that's that's a that's a big thing you want to watch out for too is the is the faking of of the look of the dog either by editing or not showing something and not even faking sometimes you won't see a certain angle like I've seen dogs look amazing and I saw a video one time but someone took of them and the dog the dog um they showed the hind end the dog was skinny rear high end anything it looked horrible it looked on like the dog should never be used to breathe it's going to produce very weak high-end dogs that could they're going to have health problems walking problems.

Back problems later so those are things you want to look watch out for um you want to watch how they move everything come on let's go let's go inside esper's done he wants to go inside his only flaw is that he's thick and rolly and during the hot summers he doesn't like the sun he likes being ac so he's under there you know lazy let's be going let's go let's go naci come on come on go come on come on come on hey let's go come on come on let's go.

But my boy runs super functional he's amazing I can't I can't stress enough how good the boy is and the same thing with the females if your female has a long line of good good structure you're gonna see that come out in the puppies and you're gonna have a statistically better consistency so when you're matching up the bulldog the bulldog pairs you want to make sure they're complementing each other so and also you want to you want to make sure that you're you have a good foundation female good foundation male period so I mean diva crazy nice back okay nice legs nice bone um very very strong back end uh not not a sway back these are things that you that you that you want.

To see now if we're talking about her flaws okay I could say her only flaw would be and this is ver a very picky flaw and it's pretty much every female's flaw is that her head is a little too small and the females their heads are going to be smaller than males um they're females but that being said there are some people that are crazy crazy heads but it's very rare um but so you want to you want to I want to fix that flaw I want to try to make sure I I get a male that has big a big nice head size and then something I'm very particular about is head shape now she has a uh her her dad is escort has.

A little bit of that round head I want the amplified round head nice big blocky blackhead she has a little bit of a little narrows out here and doesn't flatten out as much as I like and this is being very very picky to be honest with you if you're not if you can't tear apart something you love then you don't really know how to analyze that well and then you can't improve so I love this girl she's amazing looking everything but she needs we need to fix things also too I think your underbite is a half inch too big even though that's a that's a bulldog thing they have on underbites Escobar has his even flatter so he's going to fix that and that's very.

Rare in that sense that he doesn't have anything coming out he's had a perfect face and head um so he's pretty much matches up with everybody and fixes that problem because that's a problem that's with bulldogs uh her bone is great again I would like thicker bone but we're talking about this is a female and the females you're going to expect thinner bone you're going to expect smaller head but I want to match her up is she's pretty near.

Perfect in my in my eyes for a female but I want to match her up with the male it's going to give more bone fix the backwise she is amazing she she helps out every single every single male you play with she has a perfect straight back short back super strong rear end that's a problem that people that's the thing that people don't look at with blogs is the rear end um it looks bad one too it just it's a it's a it's a problem area that where the dog will now have problems later on the future have back problems have walking problems all kinds of things so diva looks amazing also look at that she's so well trained she's she's not trying to leave.

I can back off she's a really good girl um she listens really well temperament's amazing so that's a thing another thing too horrendous where I both have that so it's nothing I'm really worried about like if she had a bad temperament I would want to match her with a boy that has perfect temperament or I might not even she might not be be suitable to um to have to breed because maybe she's a little bit aggressive and you don't want to breathe aggressive aggressiveness breathing is perfect she runs plays does.

Super playful not aggressive at all so these are all attributes and things you want to look for in a dog whether they're good or bad then you want to fix and amplify either one that being said two if you if you match a um.

Bad tempered female with a bad tempered male now you just amplified it and you have even worse tempered puppies statistically speaking doesn't mean everyone's going to be like that but we go off statistics because you know like if you did bad temper bad temper both parents six puppies probably four or five are not bad temper you know we do good temper good temper six puppies and grandma and grandpa good temper we're looking at all the puppies being good temper you know what I mean so that's how it works but yeah diva um need to stand up for them she's gonna be a little nervous on here stand up like that's another thing too everyone knows me now everyone's beginning to know me come on I.

Don't hide how the dogs look or anything come on stand baby and this is the there we go nice perfect structure straight everything you can come over here and look at this angle the feet two are straight feet I'm not you haven't I haven't adjusted her feet or anything those are that's huge to me it's a straight straight feet and that's going to actually uh complement Escobar um his feet aren't as straight as I would like again this is me being crazy picky but that's that's just how I am but yeah athletic strong runs around come on dear let's go come on come come on she runs around she's just she's a great little girl super playful never harms anybody so now all that being said.

We have Escobar and diva that we matched up and that and that's our match up and like I said I won't match up with dogs just because of one one thing now Escobar and diva they're both insanely nice dogs the sweetest dogs ever so I know I'm guaranteed a bunch of sweet dogs that are gonna be great for pets great for anybody they are both amazingly structured diva is very short compact as far as very small compact thick they're very healthy they look amazing so all we're going to do is amplify it to like the 10th degree and the reason I'm saying that is this this is a line breed and where lime breeding is taking a daughter to the dad or taking a son.

To the mom and what lime breeding does is it amplifies attributes and good things and also can amplify bad things so that being said b-lass is that healthy and bad problems and the reason they ask that is because no people that do lime breeding irresponsibly are creating extremely unhealthy dogs for example if you line breed a dollar to a dad they're both very mean tempered they both have like weak but hind ends and stuff like that now you're you're amplifying that to 10th degree so now you're gonna get dogs that are crazy weak kind ends and crazy bad tempers and like mean dogs on the other side if you do this responsibly this is how this is how the best resources get bred this is.

How the best dogs get bred this is how everything gets spread if you do it right now on the other side if we're breeding too nice structured functionally good movement healthy dogs that have the look you want then and we do the line breeding now we're going to amplify that so on paper and statistically Escobar and diva is set for fireworks it's going to be amazing it's going to be really good structure nice fun healthy uh functional dogs.

So now with picking puppies it goes hand in hand with picking mom and dad because if you can pick if you know the dad and you know the mom and you know the the dad's pedro you know the mom's favorite you know what they look like you know how they move they know everything that's going to be the number one thing to picking your puppy now once you establish the parents you like now you can establish the puppy you want based on the look based on the size all those things are going to add into it but number one when picking a puppy my three p's to picking a puppy are puppy program parents either three p's the least important is the puppy because the.

Program and the parents those two things are very very important because that's most likely what the puppies can grow up to be sometimes puppies can be be an illusion you see a very nice looking puppy but they're gonna most likely grow up to look like the parents in the program and if the parents in the program aren't good then you're most likely gonna get good and I mean by the program is like the program's everything what the what the lineage looks like the program is who runs the program the ethics behind them because that's going lead and carry into the dog it's very important to not get mesmerized and catch on to the illusion of just looking at the puppy because the dad could be.

A crazy weak backed unfunctional bad breathing dog and now you're just getting a puppy and now at 18 weeks now you're like oh man I messed up so that's very very important when picking a puppy and that goes hand in hand with knowing the breeding whether you're the breeder or you're getting a beer mom dad reading the matching complimenting amplifying attributes and um and not amplifying the bad things so this is an example of breeding properly and consistency this is two different layers one litter one layer we have and this is four puppies all consistently good now why are they good because this because the parents were matching up the parents properly the structures the grandparents the moms that's how you get consistently look.

At this boy tiny structured look at this tiny boned up look at this boy it's boned up little girl boned up Fury puppies so this is the example on on on when you're looking or you're matching how to how to build properly and see the imperfections of the dogs and match them accordingly and then on top of that I mean after you've done this for so long guys please after you do this for so long you have you're having dogs that don't really have much imperfections and then you're getting puppies like this and this is just this is just straight consistency ridiculous look.

So the DaBestBulls Ranch facility has been going amazing I mean it is extremely stressful I I'm my own subcontractor I'm contracting out all kinds of different workers and everything and I'm learning a whole different aspect of business um it's been fun but like I said it's been we have the roof getting put on the roof was sort of put put on wrong.

Not sort of it was they messed up so they put they attached it wrong and we had tons of leakage they ruined the panels they ruined the inside they messed up the foam inside I had to go in there and fix the foam I have to yell at them to fix the outside they had to put new paintings up they had to paint it the the flashing was done wrong there's a lot of stuff done wrong and uh it's it's stressful but guess what I mean we got it fixed um I talked to the to the and uh he was very understanding and we got done on the good note so on a good note that got fixed another good note the drain system is going.

Amazing that is that is now installed fully functional we have to do some aesthetic cleanup things on it um but that that is that I'm super is it I'm super excited about that's like my biggest accomplishment in the last uh in the last couple of weeks yeah so this is the new drain it's up functional not completed um we decided to change it a little bit this is like state-of-the-art bulldog stuff for anyone in in the bulldog game or anyone in the dog world this is legit state art um we don't have it running completely yet but it's a drain you see over here we have it's not cleaned up we don't have the grates on there everything but those are the greats where all.

The all the fluid and people run and then we have drops down into the drain here which is on a drop that was all the way down into the sewage tank that's right there now when the stuff's in there it's going to naturally flow but anything doesn't naturally flow I can turn this on.

And now I'm pushing the stuff out ail run run run and you can see down there like there's dirt there now just from the stuff it's gonna push everything down and into our 500 gallon sewage tank so that's awesome if you look too time with me.

Hey guys that's that's the tank your tank right there if you look this is where it intersects so you can see the water flowing we have the um the whole side here too and if you see we did um the covers so we can cover everything it also gives us easy access if we ever need to need if there's ever a blockage a clog whatever we're gonna be doing all grass here so the sand won't be dropping in there and this is the pens and then right here we're gonna fence this off and it's gonna be the free range area for the chicken the best bowls chickens so that's what we got going on right now but this right here is legit this is this.

Is the 35 thousand dollars right here this grain is 35 000 and the reason I say that is because we put this whole building this whole overhang these cement walls the the pad right there just for this drain because without that it wouldn't be it wouldn't be possible not really the the roof but at all the concrete is because it's for that drain and then we had to do the concrete in the drain they do everything so literally this drains 35 000 because we could just put it overhang and then gravel and it would have been good but I wanted a real drain to keep everything so it's not smelly to make it very clean for them and uh this is state-of-the-art I don't think.

There's anything like this in the world um definitely not in the bulldog game I'm super proud of that and uh we have the pens coming I think next week and uh it'll be good and then then the best fools the vegetables ranch is freaking operating finally you know right now we're we're not operating the fuel capacity as far as you know like our infrastructure and stuff but it's coming it's coming together good hey what are you doing chia this is established.

What's up baby look at present present you funny my little boy president come on come on come on come on hey guys on top of that crazy construction we have we dug out for the sewage tank and got that installed um which is huge 500 gallon sewage tank we dug out for the propane tank got that installed at the same time we are now grading out and redoing the whole backyard so we can put new um new grass in and we grade everything so it's a nice slope and just do just going above and beyond because there's like there's dips in the yard and stuff so we graded that out um and we're just making everything nicer improving the whole facility also we got into.

Cedar I everyone knows that I'm very obsessive I had to go to source so I've been to the mill multiple times to pick up cedar to pick the logs I want cut to dimensions I want them cut because we're gonna be doing like I said the kitchen uh we're gonna be doing the whole walls and cedar planking just check this out.

Uh cedar um cabinet cabinet see our shelving this is going to go in the side of our kitchen it's a show piece too we might we might actually even open up freaking a cedar furniture company I love the cedar I love the look and this is just gorgeous live edge everything.

Have gotten tons of cedar now the cedars is for a bunch of reasons now one is to do our custom epoxy doors and our our epoxy um dividers which are gonna be in between everything that's gonna be made out of actually that's gonna be made out of like the three inch slabs like these these slabs right here if you look the three and a half inch slabs that's what's gonna be making it made out of divider and then the doors are made of out one inch slabs like these slabs.

Like the like the like the um shelving is made of and then the walls we're gonna be doing all cedar walls plank walls so we're gonna do plywood with insulation to make this place more insulated strong strength strengthen up the building more and then on top of that we're going to after we put the plywood we're going to put cedar down this half inch cedar is going to go everywhere on the walls and on top of looking good it's also going to going to create a nice smell and uh just really take us to the next the best bulls level you know so this is the the first door that we have done cedar plank epoxy epoxy sitting flush this is gonna be what every.

Door is gonna look like I think we actually might even not even use this one because we have better ones nicer ones coming from our new design but we're gonna see the door we have a solid back this is not cedar this is plywood or pine is pine um back here because we had to fill in there there's only this is like more than an inch thick the sears an inch and then we also make it flat um so the dogs don't have anything to bite on and chew and then we also stabilize and the front side so.

Is the seer door first one super excited to see the rest so this is some of the lighting that we're going be to using uh all super high quality really nice 5000k like that's the the light um like this is for under the overhang we have the strip lighting the all leds by the way that's going to go around the walkway of the outside and then we have these huge 17400 lumens so like crazy lightning um if you see now too I mean the work never stops we have our we're doing the ac right now we got the second ac if you look up the second air handler is being done and putting installed because you have the other one down there I'm just gonna.

Gonna make it so the place stays cold and obviously I always talk about it's a backup so we have the 17 400 lumen lamp so I'll be outside this whole place may live like a christmas tree and then on top of that we have paint coming that's not done but we're going to have the best bulls facility painted the chicken coop pan to match and then eventually the house to paint to match so that's coming next but um construction has been been crazy at the ac the ac going in the generator now is about to be finally hooked up and installed so we're making we're making crazy fast progress as far as to see where we started and where we've come and how pretty much.

Every single day we have someone here working you know we have either or you have to have one crew or multiple crews out here working so the the contractor life or the subcontractor life is hard and if you ever are building your own house or building your own facility like like like we are you'll see what I'm talking about um it's constant monitoring because because honestly no one's gonna do as good of a as as you and you have to watch and make sure it's done you know to your.

Now when you get to that especially for you new puppy owners when you get a puppy eight weeks old that's the earliest you should be able to get a puppy now they can be very picky and normally you're not gonna give them dry food and they're gonna and uh just let them go because sometimes they won't eat it and so there's a couple different ways to um to feed them but very important too is like you don't want them like oh even he's hungry because if that dog gets very if that guy dog gets underweight and gets weak now since it's being a puppy it's already a baby and we it can get sick and all kinds of bad things happen so it's.

Very important to keep your puppy nourished properly with food and water so the puppy progression is to eventually get them to eating kibble and um it's not gonna usually be an instant progression so I have what the tools we to create that at first you're going to want to give them some ground up dog food all this is our regular our regular dog food mix round up fine.

And you have that depending on how much the puppy eats you know exactly how much you put so it's the ground up puppy I mean the ground up food now if you mix that with water you get a little mush now normally oh by the way this is sushi she's just helping us so she eats this and eats more now normally they won't eat just this this regular mush because it doesn't taste that good so to make it even better.

We add wet food puppy wet food we use the american journey or we use the blue buffalo duck this is the american jerk oh we use the blue buffalo lamb or turkey and then we use the american journey duck either one's fine so mix this in there there and now.

Depending on how young the dog is you make the consistency a little more or a little more dense depending on how old or how big the puppy is so that's another mix but usually this doesn't even taste as good so then we add so then we add.

The ghost milk that's black not too much just flavor so that's the this is the first level and we can make it watery or not very mixed up nice the next level is adding dog the dog kibble that's soaked in water and it gets very mushy this one hasn't been soaking that long the longer it soaks the more mushy it gets so we add that in there and then they'll eat that and then the next progression is this with regular hard pieces mixed in there until they start eating and then the progression.

We do less goat's milk more more ground up dog food more wet food and then that's where she's hungry now she just ate this fat girl but that's the progression so the progression is to eventually get them doing this so the progression is used with certain tools which is ground up dog food wet food and goat's mild gas black and water and then we use tricks like we take the dog food soak it in water the longer you soak it the moisture it gets it's been it takes a while this has only been soaking for about 30 minutes and there's not there's some pieces are still pretty hard and then so you soak it for a little hour they get real soft and then then.

You start giving them just this wet food just the mushed up I mean just the wet food mixed with this and powder and then they will start eating that and then the last progression is hard food wet food and goats mcguest black powder and then at the very end it's just hard food wet food and then heart food so depending on how picky your dog is or how hungry uh like how big of an ear it is will depend on how fast that progression goes that's how we mold them into it we want keep to them eating but the goat's milk that's black powder is the trick to get them to eat really the ghost military powder and the wet food mixed with with with.

Ground up hard food or hard food or the the wet hard food is the is the trick to get them to eat thank you for watching the best bulls episode 7.
