Episode 4 - Raising Puppies, our Chicken Coop, ultimate supplement dog food

Hi my name is Jason Soares and welcome to the vest bulls ranch so today I'm going to be going over puppies it's going to be talking about how we welp our puppies we raise our puppies the the mom with the puppies the puppy milk mush mix that we use and we're going to go over all our puppy stuff then on top of that we're going to be introducing our chicken coop or the vegetables chicken coop and show you what we're doing with that it's probably the nicest chicken coop you've ever seen one of the nice ones I've ever seen custom made and it's getting made for the for the program to feed the dogs fresh fresh chicken eggs every single day and then maybe in.

The future as well as we'll add some meat to it too but it's just going to bring it to the next level as far as keeping our dogs healthy and then it's going to be the next the next stage of sort of homesteading and being self-sufficient in the DaBestBulls Ranch and that's what we're trying to do and that's we're leading to and that's what you're going to see us be doing in the coming months to come.

So the most important thing with puppies is is attention and being being keen and looking at every every little thing that's going on with the puppies and of course as the puppies get older the tension level can go down or just the attention time can go down the tension level should always be at peak the highest but as far as the time that it's going to require is going to go less so for example when puppies are just born it's a it's a non-stop thing I like the puppies eat every two to three hours and honestly with the place they're just born I like the puppies to be on the mom for the first 24 to 48 hours non-stop where they have the.

Option to come on and off which is what they would naturally do anyway they would eat then just fall asleep in the nipple wake up pee poop eat again so um but the first day crazy time you're gonna need um it's amazing having sarah um we're obviously you know we have the baby and everything I got to raise but sarah helps so much um and saves my butt all the time as far as waking up middle night as far as doing all that stuff because it's a 24 7 job especially when they're just born so this is sarah and um I've really we haven't really introduced sarah sarah say hi.

She's been seen is my girlfriend and um soon to be more she's amazing like honestly if you can find someone that can help you in in this this it's like like golden sarah's the best she takes care of the dogs she does everything so I couldn't do this without her and then obviously baby leah gets taken care of but she's work she's done being interviewed so we're gonna move on and something else you guys can is we literally other than for leah we literally have done nothing in the house it shows how like devoted we are like we are planning on opening up the whole floor plan redoing the whole kitchen all the appliances breaking down this and we don't even have furniture I mean.

Like you guys can see I got puppies there and we're we're three months in moved here we didn't have furniture and we haven't done anything and it's not a laziness but it's just how it's prioritizing the dogs first making sure they're comfortable and then in two months when that's done we will build the house you know we'll break down this wall and we'll show you we'll show you that as well too it's going to make do the floors make everything super nice but other than I mean leah's living the best life you know look at look at the pair of playpen she has she has everything but other than that we haven't we have not spent a dime inside until we finish outside but um.

It just shows how devoted we are we're not going out buying fancy cars not going out doing all this stuff we're doing the dogs first you know and then after that we'll take care of ourselves sarah obviously I told you I told you guys she's the she's the best we have to be up these ones like I said they're they're older now so we can get you know four or five hours of sleep at night but when there are first points every me personally I like them on like as much as possible um so it's about I don't I fall asleep on the floor you know but um I watch them but they came out amazing look at this boy he's a blue trimmer I.

I could really don't care about color but he's just so freaking nice let me calm down so you can see and it's hard to see like you know somebody like oh they all look the same but I mean I can I can tell you structurally this boy is insane.

Short boned up legs already huge head rope he's gonna be amazing um and obviously this is a family thing sometimes I get up middle nights when sarah gets up mainly for me because obviously she takes care of the baby so I definitely have a harder job.

I'm just kidding I let them pee on the on the towel that we change out and I rub them like I said it's very important that you don't rub the butt too much so it doesn't get um raw and it's very important that you don't let poop sit there so it doesn't the city doesn't eat away the skin these puppies are all doing amazing they don't have any infected butts no.

This boys I mean all these puppies are I love this boy though he's just gonna be so good and then we got king right here stacked up he's a big boy and this little boy is awesome too he's super super nice and the smaller of the boys it's going to be really nice when the puppies are just born and it slowly decreases over time but when the puppy is just warm this is their sensitivity level and one little thing wrong can start a downhill hill spiral the puppy can die if they miss a meal they get weak and then they get weak they don't want to eat and if they don't want to eat their body temperature regulation goes down and a puppy cannot absorb.

Food if it's temperatures down so you have to heat the puppy up and then the puppy doesn't want to heat up because it's dehydrated so it's a huge huge downhill spiral so the the most important thing with these with the puppies is just super super attention the pinch test is very easy okay you just grab right between your shoulders you pick squeeze up and you twist now watch this his thing it goes back pretty quick you know like like you can pull anywhere here see how it goes back.

It goes back to form you and you can pitch him on the back just go back to form now if it stays up see how it goes back down goes back down goes back down he's hydrated great and he's fat too if it would stay if I pinched it like stayed like that and it went down slow slow slow.

And obviously you can see the hydration based on how fast it retracts that's that's a good retraction right there boom goes back so you want to see something like that and if it goes down slower now you can be a little dehydrated or a little less or more so it just depends but that's that's the pinch test and you can also tell like my puppy's lethargic uh the way they're acting like this guy he's like very jittery everything he's feeling great um and his skin look at once it goes right back depending on their skin too sometimes they have their skin's a little slower but his is tight skin anyway but if it was if he was dehydrated you would see it stay up like.

Molded up but all their all of them are really good with the putt with the puppies I 100 recommend the puppies be with the mom or under supervision watch carefully and then the only reason I wouldn't have puppies with a mom drinking milk which is going to give them immunities which is going to do which is going to be better food for them better nutrition for them everything the only reason they wouldn't be the mom is if mom the wasn't producing milk um or some other bad thing happened and then you're gonna want to supplement them I didn't show the actual way I nurse the puppies if they don't have the mom I'll show that in a coming video um in another another episode but.

Um make sure that you you that you click and subscribe and you click the the bell below so you get all our alerts and you make and you stay tuned because I'll definitely be showing that now as they get older a puppy gets about three four weeks old when they start developing teeth you want to supplement your dog with mush and the mush mix I show and um and that's the mix I use there's a bunch of different mixes I have super success with this mix so that's what I like to do my puppy mush mix is very simple it's just the regular dog food I use the mix I use in my in my dog nutrition video you can look at that on the.

Rest of my and then it is I have this bowl right here nice little bowl that's good for feeding the puppies um a bullet kind of grinder thing and then the goat's milk s black the goat's milk s black I order I think it's a five pound bag off amazon it's the cheapest way of doing it and um and it stores for pretty much forever as long as you keep in the freezer so once you open it when it's not open you don't have keep to in the freezer just keep it in a regular temperature place once it's.

You keep in the freezer now first thing I do is I'm going to grind this up to so it's just grinded as small as possible and um and then I'll show you the mix very simple mix just dog food goes black and now this is the first time we're feeding these puppies they usually start them on on the mush around four to five weeks these puppies are really young one of them they're a couple these puppies are a little bit below four weeks but they're moving around walking very well and I think they'll do good on on the mush and on top of that same thing I'm still going to put them on the mom but the mush is a supplement it'll beef them up.

Even more so it's ground up I actually stepped out to record to grind it because the baby's sleeping I won't make baby but it's grounded up into a power the goat's milk is black we have well water and I'm actually I'm very very very particular so since we run off well water I actually use bottled water for it I'm pretty sure the well would be fine we drink the well water but I'm just I don't want any kind of any kind of problems with the pup so I use bottled water now.

I'll grab this this is just this is the 10 alkaline water with this with the mix for example let's grab I'll grab this right here um with the mix on the um powder it's a two to one ratio so for every one cup or one thing of.

You need um you need uh two cups of water that I'll just show you okay one I'm just doing a half cup and then we'll do since I put one of the powder I needed two of the water it could be any bottled water honestly just not not distilled water of course that's bad but this is just alkaline water where I.

And it's very important when you're doing this mix especially with the younger puppies if you're doing the supplement that if anything you go too much water than two little wires if it's not to there's too much powder versus too little powder it's dangerous for them it can it can hurt them.

I'm gonna mix it up now it'll actually blend a little better if you put it into warmth if you heat this if the water is warm so I'm going to warm this this this milk up in the microwave so it's like a nice warm kind of thing they'll enjoy it more that's why I always do it they probably would drink it cold but I don't want any blocks in there and then um I'm gonna warm it up.

Now when you're doing this I'm gonna put this back in the freezer so it stays the bag's expensive but 130 120 whatever but buying that bag is the cheapest way of doing it so all it is the mix is just and milk I'll show you the consistency in a second so we heated this up this is I don't think it has to be hot but.

That dissolves better and then I feel like the dogs like it better because they drink hot milk now with the powder I only I do the powder dog food now when they're younger I do a bit the consistency is very very watery now as they get older I'll make it a little thicker.

It's a very watery consistency so I'm legit just putting it I'm just going to make it so it makes sense I don't want it to get too thick and that's pretty much all I so they get a little bit and then as they older I make a lot thicker and then I slowly make it into then when they're seven weeks old I'm putting big chips of food in there so they have to chew they have teeth and everything right now they just have a little bit of teeth and basically you start the mush.

Once they um once they get teeth that's when they really technically eat eaten and this is perfect temperature um you always want to make sure it's not too hot I'm just going to try to when you first feed the mushroom and show you this the first time they ever ate mush sort of dip their face in a little bit so they see it and they taste it and then they go crit town like I said I like to do the the mush when they are about three four weeks five weeks old um depending on the development just like just like kids puppies develop differently sometimes they're ready at four weeks when the rate five weeks depends um and I do this one disaster especially on.

A big litter of puppies like for example if the mom has seven eight puppies that's a lot of stress on the mom a lot of milk they're taking so when they get bigger like four weeks old I like to put them on a mush so it takes stress off the mom here now you're gonna see next time we're gonna graduate since they're getting older and now they're finally walking we take them out of the bins and we put them in the pools with um wood chips and it makes it way better for.

As you see we got sarah over there sleeping on the one watch watching the puppies uh she's looking at condos okay see yeah learning how to spend money um and now the puppy so they'll jump in this they have no clue what's going on like he thinks I'm gonna nurse him.

We're gonna dip his face in there and just let him see come on let's see if he'll eat it I think he will yeah see first time let's see let's see this girl this is Escobar's sister direct I think she's eat it eat guys come on they might be a little bit too young oh.

She's eating this guy's crazy he's these are actually sushi babies and believe it or not let's see these guys these guys are older than girl look at him he's eating yeah and this is good for him to nurse him to eat by herself it's easier for me.

Come on and obviously they're still going to get milk regular if they can eat this they'll just get they'll eat so much but they don't want you got to get them into it and once they once they learned that they've never done this before once they learn they know you know but they just don't know right now it's very it's weird for them they're used to just sucking on a nipple or getting supplemented come on.

There we go yeah I'm not forcing just they just don't like I said they don't know so they just need to be taught oh I don't want I don't want stuff care let's see if I get this guy to eat again this will really thicken them up this is bearing his face.

He is I believe he's four weeks today so this guy's four weeks this girl is younger she's three weeks so she doesn't really want to eat much they make a mess look at him looking like I said it's not a clean job oh good girl eat let's even get her facing it.

Clean towel clean Jason look at this I love this this girl's tiny this is probably going to be one of the smallest English world you've ever seen mark my words on that um she is going to develop and uh this is sushi's daughter and we think she's gonna be amazing she's tiny she is nine days older than this girl right half the size this girl's small too but compared to these guys being sushi's um siblings it's a whole another level can you guys eat please a little bit.

But you'll see too every time you do the mush thing they get a little bit better like this guy's gonna actually he's gonna eat something there and he's always been thin um these are Escobar well the two that I'm talking about they're Escobar's kids as well the thing about Escobar and this is about knowing the program you're doing and knowing your development Escobar's puppy they develop slow they're never thick until about six to eight weeks they don't get any thickness it's pretty crazy and then they then they blow up.

It doesn't matter what they look like in the game there's gonna be like the end you know and that's the goal so this one wants a nurse but um she just doesn't know she's doing it it's very important you don't jam their nose in there and um they don't breathe in milk one of the biggest things especially with puppies most dangerous things is them aspirating and that happens most of the time when they are when you're bottle feeding them or supplementing them.

The aspiration is when they when they're lung they breathe in the fluid so they get milk in their lungs and then that causes a problem he's learning now look at my boy good boy and so look at that boy right now I can guarantee you that boy's gonna look amazing he's gonna look good in a couple weeks but right now he doesn't look like anything you wouldn't know but I know from his parents he's gonna look good.

This girl look at they have teeth too I mean this you know full teeth look I'll show your teeth yeah this girl is young look at look at sushi's daughter sushi dog has some serious chompers on ah I can't I can't see what I wanna do let's show you a little more if not I'm gonna put them on on.

Mom yeah they don't want to eat anymore let me see they've made a mess out of me this boy eats good me and baby leah get ready chicken coop made day one we got rained out of the chicken coop um so we have this is gonna be a ten by eight structure very very big for chicken coop goes and uh probably like I think like 12 feet tall at the peak.

Something too that I'm really happy is this structure is getting built to pretty much the best bull standards meaning like we try do to everything like overdo everything make it better than than it should be you know or than expected and uh and always to exceed expectations and aaron is doing an amazing job so for example this is not something a common thing you you see but he's putting 45s in every single one of these joints just for strength reasons and making making the building strong and not only is he is he is he nailing it which would be amazing he's also gluing it too which is like over over and beyond what you would see as a standard but um he's doing an amazing.

Job like really over building the structure making it making it really the best full style I got the dogs in it now they're checking out their their new chicken coop and uh I'm really really happy looking really good with the trim work down that little hole before designing that a little uh open closed door to push the uh hay out when it's dirty so it's easier to clean.

Everyone hanging out the new chicken coop look at my boy jerry loves that window but yeah no it's going amazing um sarah's gonna paint the group today and uh we'll climb the scene and um tomorrow aaron will be back tomorrow and he'll be starting to run putting on the roofing you know it's gonna be uh it's gonna be a lot a lot of fun and it's gonna be really cool to see it the best full chicken coop it's gonna be amazing when the run gets done too the front of it.

So yeah nice thick coat of timer on tomorrow's gonna be building more and then hopefully this week we'll be starting on the uh the real paint aaron the roof is up the windows are in the door frame is done the deck is in everything's looking really good we got the grating done for the run to make it level.

So that worked out great the chicken coop progress is going amazing we're going to check out the best bulls coop that's being made it's looking super nice look at every day we got door on today uh the caulking is being done so this thing is completely.

Like watertight and rot and on top of that stop stop thing from coming in this is just for water tightness make sure nothing's in the wood for rotting and then a lot of stuff is being done as far as I'm stopping prayers from games people are getting out people I am smelling the chicken is the big deal so um it's coming along really nice.

The best bulls chicken coop is gonna be the best chicken coop you ever seen in your life and for me it is for every single person that's coming the property has seen it they say it is even for my chicken coop guy um that's all he does is he's professional chin coop maker he says it's the nicest coop he's ever made um it's also the most expensive cookie ever made then that's sarah's fault completely she picked a very expensive design um but sarah wanted what she wanted we got we gotta give her what she wants she does amazing job helping out aaron he's a like I said a professional chicken group builder this coupe is built to a whole another level like it's it's way.

Overbuilt like just you see the framing everything he's gluing stuff down pre-drilling holes making sure nothing can get in he's honestly I mean that's why he is who he is and he's professional and he's doing an amazing job hello my name is aaron choblum and um I'm the owner and operator of Florida coast naturals per day this is the largest coupe so far that we've put together it has several unique features one the solid roof design to date this is the first coupe that we've ever put a front porch on a front porch a deck has never gone to date uh at a customer request and so this is the first time that Florida coast naturals has put a front porch onto our chicken poop.

We're going to be homesteading more and doing we're actually going to start growing our own microgreens and growing our fruits and veggies and that's going to go into the dog food as well first thing is now we're going to be having chicken eggs we're going to have 20 plus chicken eggs every single day that we're going to be giving our dogs and then on top of that as us as a family we get to eat fresh food as well too and then in the future I think we're going to go into a little bit of chicken meat as well um and we'll supplement our diet with that in the dog's diet with that so they're going to be getting fresh free-range chickens and chicken and.

Chicken and just knowing that we know exactly what the dogs are consuming so it's just better makes me sleep better at night and then on top of that just it's just taking the the DaBestBulls Ranch to a hole in our level and becoming more self-sufficient for us and for the dogs so we love that aesthetic wise there's really no reason for it but I mean sarah wanted it it looks it looks amazing the coop is looking awesome I can't wait for it to be done um and it's gonna be great for great for us as a family great for the dogs and great for the whole program thank you for watching the best bulls episode really appreciate if you like what you saw make.
