How Do I Travel With a Bulldog Safely?
The short answer
Bulldogs overheat easily, and getting over-excited makes it worse. Get your dog used to the car with short rides first, so long trips are calm. Have a car with good, reliable AC, keep water on hand, and have a backup plan if the AC or the car breaks down.

Car rides with bulldogs
I'm traveling with Fury and King Escobar right now, and there are a couple of important things to know. Bulldogs are an overheating type of dog: they get hot very easily, and that can be catastrophic. Something I've seen and heard happen: a dog gets super excited, and that leads to the heat.
So get your dog used to the car with short rides. Then when you have to do a long ride, like this one, they're calm.
Have a car with good, reliable AC so you can keep them cool. Keep water on deck. And have a backup plan in case the AC or the car breaks down. These are things we don't normally think about when we travel by ourselves.
